FIREFIGHTERS helped clear a fire that had quick spread across an overgrown field in Banbury.
Crews were called to Warwick Road at about 4.30pm on Wednesday where they managed to control the flames with beaters and hose reels.
Station manager Mark Ames said: "The current spell of dry weather means that the fire risks in the countryside are currently and likely to remain very high.
"Please take extra care with naked flames or other sources of ignition to ensure that fires are not stared, with the consequent risk of them spreading out of control."
