FIREFIGHTERS spent hours hosing down flames that saw 20 tonnes of waste paper go up in smoke.
Bicester Fire Station said it arrived at the scene of the fire at Wyndenham Group printing press in Bicester at midnight last night, where a lorry trailer piled with paper scraps was ablaze.
A spokesperson for Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters gained access via ladders and used hose reels to dampen it down.
"They put the fire out and are now paying regular monitoring visits."
