HUNDREDS of people spent hours in the sunshine at a royal knees-up in Didcot at the weekend.
Didcot Town Council organised a day of music, dancing and festivities on Saturday to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday.
Six live bands, Irish dancing and fair rides kept the masses entertained well into the evening at St Edmonds Park.
The celebrations, entitled 'A Right Royal Affayre' saw people bringing picnics, enjoying the stalls and raising money for charity.
Town council leader Bill Service said the day was a great success.
He said: "It was a really good day, it was very well attended and people stayed right through to the end at 9pm.
"The weather was great and I would say at the height of the afternoon there were close to 1,000 people there all enjoying themselves.
"It was all to celebrate the Queen's birthday and it was great to be able to bring people together."
