The theatre trust behind plans to build eight flats and two shops in Gloucester Place car park, behind the Oxford Playhouse, will be submitting revised plans later this summer.

The original scheme from the Oxford Samuel Beckett Theatre Trust had been strongly opposed by the Playhouse, which warned the buildings would make the delivery and removal of sets impossible.

Tish Francis, director of the Playhouse, said talks were ongoing between the trust and theatre and she remained hopeful the serious problems could yet be resolved.
