Two teenagers burgled an elderly woman's home while she was still inside and stole jewellery including a diamond engagement ring.
The youths broke into a house in School Lane, Middleton Stoney yesterday at about 7pm.
They were disturbed by the elderly resident who set off her alarm and fled to a neighbours house but stole two gold chains, a diamond engagement ring and two pearl rings.
The first youth is described as about 17-years-old, thin with black hair, wearing a sweatshirt with writing on it and black trousers.
The second is said to be about 16-years-old, thin and wearing a grey top.
Police believe they may have been with a blonde woman in her 40s seen hanging around outside the house.
Dc Paddy O'Grady said: "This was a frightening incident for the elderly victim and she has been left shocked and distraught at the theft of her jewellery."
