AN OXFORD not-for-profit organisation is celebrating raising more than £6,000 for Earth Day through a competition run by Richard Branson.
Voices for Nature, based off Botley Road, have entered #VOOM2015 in order to pitch their movie Jabujicaba and to raise funds in the process.
The winner of the competition is in with winning a share of £1m worth of prizes.
Founder of Voices for Nature Sigrid Shreeve said: "This is a local Oxford initiative with an ecothriller supporting Brazil's rainforests, with lots of stakeholder support, also from Oxford University University.
For three weeks now we have been up on the leader board in first or second place and Earth Day has given us some really big pledges, bringing our total up to almost £10,000.
"In one day, however, we have raised £6,680, which is amazing so thank you to everyone who has given money."
