The civilian member of staff shot by police at a training base in Kidlington was in a serious but stable condition this morning.
The man, a member of Thames Valley Police support staff, was shot during a firearms awareness training session at about 12.25pm yesterday.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission is due to carry out an investigation.
