A man is in hospital after being shot at a police training base.
Police said the injured man is a member of Thames Valley Police support staff who was shot during a firearms awareness training session in Kidlington at about 12.25pm today.
A police spokesman added the man, who has not been named, was taken to Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission is due to carry out a scene assessment ahead of an investigation tomorrow morning, an IPCC spokesman said.
