Boys turned their attention to the football pitch to pay tribute to a friend who died two years ago in a crash on Oxford's Eastern Bypass.
A penalty shoot-out was needed to decide the second annual Marshall Haynes memorial football match at Cutteslowe Park, Oxford, on Saturday.
Among the spectators were Marshall's mother, Julie Parker and grandparents Joan and Alf Pill.
Thirteen-year-old Marshall, from Greater Leys, died in a crash on the bypass along with friends Liam Hastings and Josh Bartlett and 21-year-old student Howard Hillsdon in May 2005.
The youngsters played as England and Manchester United - the teenager's two favourite teams - with England eventually winning on spot-kicks.
Crash survivors Anton Dublin, 15, and Conor Hunt, 14, played in the memorial match, in which 32 players from the Oxford Mail Boys League and Witney and District Youth League took part.
