A RECENTLY saved Wolvercote pub could be revamped and live music introduced in an attempt to make it more viable.

The White Hart in Godstow Road faced being turned into a four-bedroom house before the community pub company that runs it appointed new directors earlier this month.

The appointments appeased the building's landlord, who had applied for a change of use following a financial dispute, and the new team was announced.

New director Gordon Richardson said several things were in the pipeline to improve the pub's takings.

He said: "We are going to be looking at maybe refitting the inside and doing it up nicely.

"We have also discussed live music and events to encourage children to the pub.

Mr Richardson said regular quiz nights and Aunt Sally would remain a feature of the pub.

The new team of locals Mr Richardson, Christopher Sylvester, Peter Wilks and Chris James, have called on the rest of the village to have their say on any improvements or new initiatives they would like to see at the pub.

The future of the pub will be discussed between villagers and directors in the baptist church opposite the pub from 8pm on March 22.
