Sir – Congratulations on your increased coverage of art events in the county. Can we please have more of the same?
The front page photo and information about John Goto’s exhibition at the Old Fire Station and subsequent coverage of the Robert Strange exhibition at Cornerstone, Didcot, as well as the superb exhibition at Wolfson College of Mongolian art and Sarah Mayhew-Craddock’s informative article about Sarah Spackman’s exhibition at the Sarah Wiseman Gallery in Summertown were highlights of the January 21 issue.
We are fortunate to have gifted artists in both town and gown, such as Ruskin School of Art graduate Francis Hamel, currently painting the Cameron Mackintosh Professors of Contemporary Theatre.
In a city that still has no permanent collection of contemporary British art, these fleeting occasions when emerging artists can be inspired and learn from others are significant.
All credit to you for highlighting them. Thank you.
