CHILDREN at Leafield Primary School in Witney worked hard with artist Emily Cooling to make willow lanterns for their annual procession.
Residents, teachers, pupils and parents gathered at the village green for the switching on of the Christmas tree lights and the lantern parade.
Guests also enjoyed mulled wine, other refreshments and Christmas carols.
Headteacher Christian McGuinness said: “We were so pleased with the turnout. It was lovely to see so many people there from the local community.
“It was a wonderful spectacle, walking through the village with the lanterns.
“And, for the first time this year, it was special to gather round the Christmas tree and sing carols too.
“It was a real community atmosphere and our PTA sold minced pies and mulled wine on the green. It was really lovely.”
