A car burst into flames outside the Redbridge Hollow travellers' site.

The vehicle has been seen on fire near the site in Old Abingdon Road.

Thames Valley Police are believed to be on the scene dealing with the incident.

Oxfordshire Fire Service watch manager John Hardy said said firefighters from The Slade and Rewley Road dealt with the incident after being alerted at 7.40pm last night.

He added: "The car was destroyed by the fire.

"We don't yet know the cause of the fire and police officers were at the scene."

Earlier today an overturned van with incendiary graffiti was dumped in the middle of the road near the site.

According to witnesses it bore slogans including "Thames Valley Police officers are scum", "RIP Raoul Moat" and "Up the IRA".
