Strong and severe gusts of wind are set to sweep across Oxfordshire tomorrow afternoon.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind across the South East, starting from 3pm tomorrow and running until 11.30pm.

Gusts of up to 70mph could strike inland and 80mph on coastal parts of England during storm Barney, the second weather event strong enough to be named - hot on the heels of storm Abigail - in a week.

There is likely to be travel disruption and people are asked to be wary that trees and other weak structures could be blown down in the gales.

Met Office chief forecaster Eddie Carroll said: "A deepening area of low pressure is likely to track east across southern Ireland and then central parts of the UK during Tuesday afternoon and evening, with a swathe of very strong winds potentially developing.

"There remains a good deal of uncertainty in this evolution and particularly the location of the strongest winds, so this warning will be kept under review and updated as necessary."
