JAMES BOND wannabes and aspiring Bond girls have been invited to put on their best tuxedos and gowns for a special screening of Spectre.

Phoenix Picturehouse, in Walton Street, is hosting a special event on Monday night following the success of the 25th James Bond film.

Spectre, starring Daniel Craig, Léa Seydoux and Monica Bellucci, took in a record-breaking £40m in its first week and has seen Oxford's cinemas put on extra screenings due to high demand.

The best-dressed couple tonight will win dinner for two with a glass of wine at Loch Fyne in Walton Street, free cinema tickets, cocktail at the bar and more.

David Williams, general manager at Phoenix Picturehouse, said: “The reaction to Spectre has been amazing. The fans love it and we wanted to give them the opportunity to really immerse themselves in the secret agent lifestyle for the evening – we’re all dusting off our finest and can’t wait for Monday’s event.”

Those turning up in evening wear will also get a discount at the bar, with two cocktails for £10.

The event has been organised with What’s Ticking Today, a website that offers discounts for restaurants, hotels, shows, shops and events in Oxfordshire.

To take part, spectators should register in advance on What's Ticking Today's Facebook page, take a selfie on arrival at the cinema and share it on Twitter mentioning @tickingoxon and @PhoenixPH with the hashtag #dressedtothrill.

The night will begin at 7pm. Tickets can be purchased online at picturehouses.com.
