Two policemen brought a little excitement to the Halloween celebrations.

During routine patrols PCs James Lingwood, left, and Barry Payne did their bit and boosted children’s sweetie hauls.

As groups of youngsters wearing ghoulish costumes traipsed around Bicester’s estates looking for tricks or treats, the officers joined in the fun. They flashed their lights, stopped the car and suddenly an arm popped out with a bucket of sweets.

Mum-of-two Clare Merendidis said: “It was lovely to see the community spirit – the children were so excited when the police car stopped and the officers produced sweets.”
