PUPILS at Larkmead School, Abingdon, hoped to raise a staggering amount of cash to buy school scientific equipment and text books.
‘Staggering’ because that’s what it was – a sponsored stagger around the school sports field.
The event was so called because it allowed pupils to complete the six-mile course any way they liked – running, jumping, walking or, as the picture shows, staggering.
Several teachers also took part in what had become a popular annual event at the school.
