THIS is to all the do-gooders of Oxford who think we don’t do enough for asylum seekers and every nationality under the sun.
I have just read the Syrians have been given accommodation already. Well, I am an English Romany Gypsy and when I was a boy in the 1930s and 1940s, we were pushed from pillar to post.
We stopped by the side of roads and as soon as we stopped, police would give us 24 hours to move.
This was the law. They treated us like scum. We had no help from anyone.
We would have been too proud to accept help, but if we didn’t work, we starved.Thankfully in the 70s this changed for the better. Where were the do-gooders then?
