Internet security company bosses appeared at court yesterday accused of stealing data from a rival firm.
Paul Cox, managing director of Kidlington-based internet security software firm Quadsys’, was arrested alongside four colleagues on suspicion of fraud.
Cox, 40 of Acremead Road, Wheatley, was charged with conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation and blackmail.
Alistair Barnard, 38, of Bampton Road, Aston, a director of Quadsys, and 36-year-old Jon Townsend, of Pensclose, Witney were both charged with conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation.
Steve Davis, 34, of Bessel’s Way, Blewbury, Didcot, and 40-year-old director Paul Streeter, Blakes Avenue, Witney, were also charged with conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation.
The five men appeared at Oxford Crown Court but were not arraigned because no indictment had been drawn up.
Cathy Olliver, prosecuting, said: “They are charged with offences of stealing data from a rival company.”
They were granted bail until December 14.
