ONE of Britain’s best-known children’s authors dropped in to the Story Museum to spend an evening with some of his fans.
Patrick Ness, who has won the Carnegie Medal for Outstanding Writing on two separate occasions, has just released his newest novel The Rest of Us Just Live Here.
The book for young adults follows Mikey, who just wants to graduate and go to the prom instead of being the Chosen One, who is expected to fight zombies and soul-eating ghosts.
Mr Ness, who has also won The Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize, spoke to Daniel Hahn, editor of The Oxford Companion to Children’s Literature.
The pair discussed Mr Ness’s inspirations, passions and experiences behind writing some of his acclaimed novels.
The Carnegie Medal is awarded every year to the writer of an outstanding book for children.
