IT WAS lights, camera, action for Broad Street yesterday as Oxford’s top detectives got back on the case.
Filming for the ninth series of ITV’s Lewis, which began in May, continued throughout the day at long-established locations up and down the street.
Actors Kevin Whately and Laurence Fox, playing the titular hero and Detective Inspector James Hathaway, were spotted alongside Inspector Morse author Colin Dexter.
The White Horse pub was closed from 10am to 3pm while filming took place outside.
Landlady Jacqueline Paphitis said: “The main characters sat in the front window discussing a case.
“We met them and got some pictures, and made 180 scones for customers outside.
“They were really excited. Fans come here from all over the world.
“It creates a good buzz and brings in business.”
