IT WAS a breezy afternoon for visitors to the Wheatley Windmill over the weekend.
The 18th century family-owned windmill was re-opened in 2010 after being restored and is now open to visitors between May and October.
More than 100 people visited the windmill on Sunday, with one of its owners, Mavis Ramsden, saying : “It was a beautifully sunny day and visitors could see all the way out across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire from the top of the tower .”
The windmill is owned by Ms Ramsden’s family, and her ancestors were millers for generations. The windmill is one of the UK’s only octagonal 18th century tower mills.
