Police believe two burglaries in villages near Wantage may be linked.
In the first incident, a first-floor window at a house in New Road, Childrey, was smashed, some time between 11am on Thursday, April 19, and 6pm the following day.
The bedroom was searched and jewellery taken.
Nothing was taken in the second burglary, when a ground-floor window at a house in Kingston Lisle was smashed.
The dining room was searched, but nothing was taken.
Pc Stephen Knight said: "These are small villages next to each other on the outskirts of Wantage and, as the burglaries are so similar, we believe they're linked.
"On both occasions it seems the thieves may have been disturbed by an alarm going off, as they have fled without carrying out full searches of the properties."
Anyone with information should call Pc Knight on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
