VAUXHALL'S Fabrizio Giovanardi and SEAT's Jason Plato shared the victories in Sunday's three Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship rounds at Rockingham.
A pair of wins for Italian Giovanardi, who drives for the Greatworth, near Banbury, VX Racing team, moved him into second position in the title chase, although Plato, who lives in Oxford, remains top of the standings as the championship heads to the fastest circuit on the calendar, Thruxton, on May 6.
Giovanardi's team mate Tom Chilton added to VX Racing's joy by finishing second in the day's first race. Chilton also picked up third and fourth positions in the other heats.
A delighted Giovanardi, whose wins were also the first for Vauxhall's new Vectra model in the BTCC, said: "Tom and myself have been on the pace in every session here in the Vectra, which is a sign that we now have a very competitive car. We will be in really good shape at Thruxton."
