THE bells rang for the start of Cornbury Festival in glorious sunshine yesterday.
North Oxford-based theatre company Electric Cabaret performed their street theatre and mime artistry for festivalgoers arriving throughout the day at Great Tew Park.
Theatre member Richard Jones, 47, said: “We were blessed with the weather. People were rushing to the festival very quickly and then slowing down which is always good.
“We were providing serendipitous moments for people who stumble across us.
“It’s been a cracking start to the festival.”
Headlining the festival last night was Razorlight, while other acts taking to one of the festival’s four stages over the weekend include Welsh heart throb Sir Tom Jones, Blue, Billy Ocean and Matha Reeves and the Vandellas.
