The reason chickens don’t cross the road in Witney
Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?
A: Because it was near a zebra crossing!
Q: How did the chicken know it was a zebra crossing?
A: Because there were black and white stripes on the road and the chicken knows zebras are black and white, and there are also flashing orange beacons beside the stripes.
Q: Why do you never see chickens crossing the road in Witney?
A: Because the crossings either have no stripes and beacons and are therefore unsafe as they are ambiguous, or the stripes are brown/grey colour with orange flashing beacons. So they can’t be zebra crossings, can they?
