I HAVE to air my views on the report on page 11of the Oxford Mail on June 9 about fears that the community hospital will be privately run have come true.

It would appear to me that the staff at Chipping Norton Community Hospital have been treated very badly by Oxfordshire County Council, which has axed their livelihood at a moment’s notice by installing the Orders of St John Care Trust to run the hospital. The same trust was running a care home in Kidlington where I had a relative resident.

It was okay at first but then it axed all the activities and the residents were “waiting for God”. Sadly this is the case in the majority of care homes.

John Jackson, director of adult social services for Oxfordshire County Council which helped broker the arrangements, said: “There is no need for any concern as there will be no change to the service. The intermediate care service in Chipping Norton will continue but with a different provider”

A word of advice to Cllr Hilary Biles and the people of Chipping Norton.

I would take what Mr Jackson says with a pinch of salt.

This is what you get when you vote Conservative.
