I WAS very touched by the kind tribute you gave to me in your editorial column on Saturday, June 6.

The only slight reservation I had with your article was that you gave the impression that my grass prior to it being replaced with plastic was not “resplendent, verdant and beautiful”.

I am enclosing a picture taken on Saturday, May 28 – two days before it was replaced. I think it really does look rather nice and well cared for. I did actually enjoy looking after it in a professional “Manor”. The only reason to go plastic was that I am spending many weeks at a time in Tenerife and it was not possible for me to maintain it properly.
