Oxfordshire’s fire service was yesterday given approval to seek closer ties with Thames Valley Police that could see the bodies share offices.
At a meeting in County Hall, Oxford, county council cabinet member Rodney Rose directed chief fire officers to draw up a “memorandum of understanding” with the force.
The agreement could see them move together into existing buildings or build new “multi-agency hubs” – like one planned for Carterton in West Oxfordshire – and is backed by Thames Valley police and crime commissioner Anthony Stansfield.
