HAVING never written to the Oxford Mail before, I felt I must write to express my thanks.
I refer to the proposed extension to Holy Trinity Church in Headington Quarry. It is fantastic news that the plans have temporarily been withdrawn.
Though I no longer live in Headington Quarry, I was born there and still have ties with the community. My twin boys are buried in what is the beautiful churchyard, unfortunately two metres away from the proposed extension.
Special thanks go to Jenny Carpenter and the tireless work of the Holy Trinity Preservation Group, also to all those who wrote in to object. That said, due to the lack of communication between Rev Tim Stead and all those who opposed these plans, we must keep our ears to the ground for any further developments in the future. But for now, I for one, am pleased with the outcome.
