I agree with Teresa Fieldwick (Oxford Mail, March 21) about blue wheelie bins, although Kidlington is in Cherwell, not Oxford.
For three weeks, I tried to buy one from City Works.
After endless phone calls to ask why I hadn't yet received it, they told me that they had no record of me ever ordering it.
As I had given all my details, including phone number and visa card number, in the initial phone call, I asked why they had these on their computer, but still no record of my order?
This surely proved that I had ordered it, but they couldn't explain.
I then asked, was it now free after all of the peak phone calls I'd made? No, was the answer.
Eventually after talking to a manager (not easy), I was told it would be delivered the following morning. In their defence it was, but I still had to pay.
However, if they are prepared to give you two blue boxes, why don't you have the choice of a bin instead?
Surely the cost must be the same? The boxes are free.
It's just another con by the council, as far as I can see.
Next day, I received this year's council tax bill, which has gone up £5 per month.
Can anyone explain how you get five bags of rubbish in the green bin? I can only manage three.
