THE Lake Street Playgroup hosted its Hinksey Spring Fete over the weekend in what event organiser, Caroline Bushell, called “a fantastic day out for the community”.
There was fun for all the family on Saturday with stalls, games, a bouncy castle, face painting, cakes, crafts, music and a barbecue all on offer for just £1.
The event was run entirely by parents with children at the Lake Street Playgroup, with the aim of raising money for the organisation.
Ms Bushell said: “It was a record year for fundraising and while we don’t have the figures back yet, we raised well over £1,000, which is brilliant.”
A huge raffle was also available on the day with prizes from local companies, including the Phoenix Picture House, Eau de Vie, Cotswold Wildlife Park, Pegasus Theatre and Oxford Ice Rink.
Lizzy Morey, 23, who face painted at the event, said: “Everyone seemed to be having a great time and we raised a lot of money for the playgroup – overall it was a huge success.”
The Lake Street Playgroup would like to thank their sponsor Breckon & Breckon for supporting the fete.
