YOUNGSTERS found out more about the natural world at a series of events at Harcourt Arboretum.
TheFascination of Plants day on Saturday gave visitors to the arboretum in Nuneham Courtenay the chance to learn about plants and the insects that live among them.
Stalls staffed by academics from Oxford University gave an insight into weird and wonderful facts about plants, including how they produce antibodies and how centuries of farming have helped shape the crops we eat.
Visitor Robbie Tidmarsh, six, from nearby Marsh Baldon, said: “ “I learned that some bacteria aren’t bad for plants.”
Staff also offered a series of guided tours of the arboretum throughout the day.
