Four men who were arrested in connection with the murder of Enayit Khalili in Oxford have been released on bail.

Two other men were previously released without charge.

Mr Khalili, 26. died following a stabbing in Fiennes Road, Rose Hill, Oxford. He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, after an incident at 3.30am on Saturday and died from his injuries at 11.40pm.

Det Supt George Turner, of Thames Valley Police's Major Crime Unit, said: "Enayit was a popular lad and his terrible death has left a grieving family and a very young widow.

"We would like to take this opportunity to appeal to anyone to come forward who thinks they may be able to help us find Enayit's killer. We are interested in speaking to anyone who knew Enayit; even the tiniest details can prove vital.

"We will be continuing the large-scale investigation into his death, including ongoing forensics work at the scene. Extensive house-to-house enquiries are being carried out in the Rose Hill area and these will go on for some time."

Mr Khalili worked for Thames Valley Police as a cleaner in St Aldate's station custody suite.

"He took pride in keeping our custody suite in order, which can be an extreme environment to work in. He was a valued member of the team and well-known character who will be sorely missed by our officers and custody staff."
