COMMUNITIES will have more say on local developments with a Neighbourhood Development Plan in the pipeline for several North Oxfordshire parishes.
Cherwell District Council has agreed areas to be included in a Mid Cherwell Neighbourhood Plan providing a development blueprint for the area.
The plan would give residents, parish councils and neighbourhood forums a say in development.
The district council’s head of strategic planning and the economy, Adrian Colwell, said: “Six parishes in the district have already been designated as Neighbourhood Areas – Adderbury, Hook Norton, Bloxham, Stratton Audley, Merton and Deddington. These are now set be joined by the extra parishes.”
The area agreed by Cherwell at a meeting of the executive, on Tuesday, April 7, includes Ardley with Fewcott, Kirtlington, Duns Tew, Middleton Stoney, Somerton, Steeple Aston, Middle Aston, North Aston, Fritwell and Lower and Upper Heyford.
The district council aims to ensure the majority of development in the area is at the former RAF Upper Heyford site.
