OXFORD United conceded a 90th-minute equaliser in their table-topping clash with Dagenham in an exciting 2-2 draw at the Kassam Stadium.

Yemi Odubade inspired a stirring second-half fightback with a virtuoso performance on the right and two well-taken goals.

But, just when it looked as though Oxford were going to register their third victory of the season against the Conference champions-elect, the Daggers pounced following a misdirected clearace by Barry Quinn.

Substitute Sam Sloma was left on his own on the left to drill a shot under Billy Turley's body to make it 2-2.

Earlier, there were some question marks over Turley when Dagenham took a 17th-minute lead through their leading scorer Paul Benson, who notched his 25th goal of the season from close range after United's keeper failed to hold a shot or get up quickly to stop Benson's follow-up.

United came back into it well in the second half, with Jim Smith changing his 3-4-3 formation to play with Andy Burgess just behind the front two.

Burgess really should have scored with a header from just five yards after great work from Odubade.

Odubade then equalised on 70 minutes with a right-footed drive from 18 yards, and two minutes later he capitalised on some slapstick goalkeeping by veteran Tony Roberts to volley in a 30-yard angled shot with his left foot.

The former Eastbourne Borough striker was then booked for taking off his short in the celebrations.

The point keeps Dagenham 11 points clear at the top. Mathematically they need three more wins for the title, but in reality they could even be promoted by Easter.
