A TEENAGE girl is still in hospital a week after sustaining serious head injuries in a crash between a coach and a car on the A40 at Risinghurst.

The 14-year-old girl, who was a passenger in a blue Rover which was in collision with an Oxford Bus Company Espress service from London to Oxford, has been at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, since the accident on Friday, March 16.

She had to be cut out of her car by firefighters following the collision.

Pc Greg Stewart, who is investigating the accident, said yesterday: "The young girl is making good progress but is still in hospital and is likely to be for a few days yet. "

A woman in her 20s, who was driving the car, was taken to hospital with minor cuts and bruises and has since been released.

None of the seven passengers on the coach or the driver were injured.

Police are still appealing for witnesses to the collision, which happened at around 9am on March 16, and anyone with information is asked to contact Pc Stewart on 08458 505505 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
