The wait was over for computer game fanatics who came out at midnight last night to be the first to get their hands on the new PlayStation 3.
Both Toys R Us in Botley Road, Oxford, and HMV in Cornmarket Street, Oxford, were opened at midnight so people could try out the new games consoles.
About 20 people had pre-ordered the games console from Toys R Us and a further 78 were available to buy.
HMV said it had a handful of games consoles left unordered last night and Virgin Megastore on Cornmarket Street was due to open early at 7.30am this morning so its customers could get their hands on the new console.
PC World in Botley said all its stock had been pre-ordered.
