OXFORD City Council will find out next week if its bid to become a unitary council has been successful.
The Government is due to reveal a shortlist of eight prospective unitary councils ahead of a three-month consultation period.
The decision had initially been expected today, following a meeting of a Government cabinet committee, but the decision is now expected next week.
