Sir - Your columnist Christopher Gray can't let go of Jean Fooks, can he?
In his article last week (March 16) he (yet again) bemoans the fortnightly rubbish collection and tells us that Jean Fooks 'obstinately refuses to reinstate' weekly collections.
On the same day a research report (supported by the Government and the Local Government Association, who are not all Lib Dem cronies, please note!) suggested that if rubbish is properly wrapped, a fortnightly collection should not lead to any health hazards. Mr Gray suspects that the JF story will end in tears, but if he hopes to precipitate those tears, he should know that Jean Fooks is made of sterner stuff I am well aware that this is the third letter you have published from me on the Gray/Fooks confrontation, and I rather hoped that I had done my job by now. Clearly your columnist can go on week after week, with your support, so I guess he thinks he will always have the last word - and I am certainly not expecting you to publish 52 of my letters per year! However, he should not take it for granted that those who are for him are more than those who are against him. Perhaps others could now take up the cudgels.
