MORRISONS superstore in Swan Close, Banbury, is offering grants to 'green' groups.
The company is sponsoring a project by Community Service Volunteers and has £50 grants to give away.
This is the first time Morrisons have sponsored the national environmental volunteering campaign run by CSV, the UK's largest volunteering charity.
Last year, more than 15,000 people took part in Action Earth projects in England and Wales.
They planted 5,500 trees, collected almost 10,000 sacks of litter, cleaned almost 6,000 yards of river bed, and improved more than 3,300 acres of land.
Steve Anderson, general manager of the Banbury store, said: "I hope people will come to our store, get an application pack, and get involved."
Mike Williams, CSV director of environment, added: "Action Earth is about making a lasting difference to your local area through volunteering. We hope communities will use this opportunity to protect and enhance their environment to improve quality of life and safeguard it for future generations."
Application packs are available from Morrison's cutomer service desk. Alternatively, green groups can call CSV on 0121 328 7455 or visit www.csv.org/actionearth
