It is with some trepidation that I read your report regarding the upgrading and enlargement of RAF Brize Norton (Oxford Mail, March2).

It will mean that Brize Norton and adjacent towns and villages will be in the firing line for the people who wish us all dead.

This at a time when the police force is being cut to the bone, together with all the other agencies that are involved with the safety and well-being of our citizens.

It seems very strange that the Government can find the money needed to carry out this plan at a time when it is short-changing the nurses in their annual pay rise.

Further, if the estimate of £400m is a fact, then you can bet that the final figure will be twice that.

I have no faith in Tony Blair's Government.

I think that Guy Fawkes had a very valid point.

Come back Guy - all is forgiven.
