Sir - I was pleased to see Colin Dexter's letter (March 9) about the delights of Cutteslowe Park and praising the parks' officers for the work they do in keeping it so attractive.
He may not be aware that, very recently, a Friends of Cutteslowe and Sunnymead Park group has been set up, not only to support the work being done but, also, to seek further improvements.
A Clean Up day has been organised for 10am on Sunday, March 25, and everyone is welcome to join us next to the allotments on the eastern edge of Cutteslowe Park. They should bring gloves, and sensible clothing and footwear.
Incidentally, Oxford City Council has applied for the green flag, a national award for good and well maintained parks, for Cutteslowe and Sunnymead Park and we should know this summer whether this has been successful.
Graham Jones, Chairman, Friends of Cutteslowe and Sunnymead Park, Wolvercote
