Sir - Your correspondents, Anne and Chris Jones, asked about alternative power suppliers (Letters, March 2).
May I suggest that they look at EBIco Ltd whose website is http://www.ebico.co.uk/ or phone on 0800 458 7689. They are based in Witney. EBICo was founded in 1998 and is a not-for-profit company, limited by guarantee. The Company's aim is to harness the power of 'the market' to tackle real issues of social concern. EBICo's guiding principles are a bias towards those on low incomes and stewardship of resources. It guarantees that all its customers pay the same for fuel so that the poorest in society do not pay more because they cannot set up direct debits. They have a real concern for the environment and have arrangements for offsetting carbon dioxide if you choose to do so. It is very simple to change suppliers and I would encourage your correspondents to do so.
Dr Halcyon Leonard, Kennington
