OXFORD East MP Andrew Smith will be the Labour Party candidate in the constituency at the next General Election.
Local party members backed Mr Smith to campaign for another term as MP at the annual general meeting of the Oxford and District Labour Party.
Mr Smith said: "I look forward to the challenge of a tough election campaign, but of course, my main priority remains the service I provide to my constituents, helping people with problems and acting on their views and concerns."
Boundary changes mean that the Holywell and Carfax wards in central Oxford will be moved from Oxford West and Abingdon into the Oxford East constituency for the first time at the next General Election.
