On Tuesday (March 13) there's another chance to see 80s classic Dirty Dancing at the Oxford Vue.

The chances are, if you're a certain age, you'll have fond memories of this particular teen flick - and indeed in the summer of 87 it was pretty much the date movie of choice. If nothing else, you'll certainly remember the movie's hit song Time of your Life by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes. There was a time when you couldn't go near a radio without hearing the damn thing.

Indeed, the movie has enjoyed a new lease of life recently since it has been revived as a stage musical - currently showing in London's West End.

But for the uninitiated, the movie concerns surly teenager Jennifer Grey learning her dance steps while falling for instructor Patrick Swayze. The movie also has a typically great performance from the late, lamented Jerry 'Law and Order' Orbach.

While the movie might seem a simplistic by the standards of today's teen flick fare, if you're in the mood for 80s nostalgia (although the film is set in the 1960s), you could do worse than this.

What's more, this is a crisp new print. It will be showing at The Vue cinema, Oxford, at 7pm and 9.15pm. Call 08712 240240 to book.
