Sir - Over the past decade I have grown progressively pessimistic about the future of the planet. Yet there are a few streaks of hope amid the encircling gloom.
For the past three years I have spent a good deal of time in Cutteslowe Park, usually in the early mornings; and I have been deeply impressed by the dedication, pride and skill of my fellow citizens who labour there. As a city we don't seem to agree about the (to me) laudable efforts being taken by our council with rubbish collections. But surely we can all be hugely grateful to those who look after Cutteslowe Park with such taste and care and who provide so much pleasure for young and (like me) old alike.
