FOUR people from Oxford were arrested after they were prevented from leaving a pub in Dorset.

Two men and a woman, thought to be from Oxford, entered The George Inn in Portland, Dorset, on Monday. They were thought to have been in a road accident.

Some pub goers stopped the men, aged 32 and 34, and the woman, 34, from leaving before Dorset Police arrived.

The pub landlord prevented a fourth member of the group, a 53-year-old man, from driving off. He was arrested and charged with being drunk and disorderly.

He was then bailed until March 16 when he will appear before Weymouth magistrates.

The three others were held for a number of offences including resisting arrest and bailed until a date to be fixed in mid-April.
