POLICE today appealed for witnesses after nine cars were damaged between Kennington and Radley on Saturday and Sunday.

Youths are believed to have caused the damage and about five youths wearing hoodies were seen running away from Lower Radley Caravan Park at about 1.30am.

Wing mirrors were smashed and damaged and car windows were smashed causing hundreds of pounds damage. Incidents were reported on The Avenue, Kennington Road, and Lower Radley Caravan site.

PC Maria Morrisey, Criminal damage co-ordinator for the Vale, said: "This is an unusual spate of damage for the area and appears to be mindless vandalism caused by a group of youths.

"We are stepping up patrols in the area and carrying out a thorough investigation of these incidents and need your help to catch these youths before they cause more damage.

"If you saw anything suspicious on Saturday night or if you know who may be responsible then please contact me."
