A FIRE alarm was raised at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, when staff noticed a burning smell and spotted smoke coming from the roof.
Five fire engines raced to the hospital in Headley Way, Headington, at about 6.45pm yesterday.
JR spokesman Helen Peggs said: "There was a bit of smoke and a burning smell coming from level eight, which is the roof."
She said it was caused by an electrical problem and the building was not evacuated.
